Your Own Shawnee Traditions
(Article by Jeromy Wo, Public Relations, November 2013) You are invited to join The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort as we celebrate our annual Holiday Traditions. This special time of year extends so many opportunities to slow down and spend quality time with friends and family. Does your family have its own Shawnee Traditions? I met a guest who told me that one of their traditions is simply relaxing on Shawnee’s grand veranda with one of our complimentary blankets and mugs of hot cocoa.
Shawnee has six very special traditions that will take place throughout the 2013/2014 holiday season. The first of which will take place in two weeks! Shawnee’s Thanksgiving Buffet is on Thursday, November 28th and will feature a bounty of turkey day favorites with all of the fixings.
Shawnee’s Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 5pm – 7pm. The Lighting Ceremony features live music, caroling, hayrides, hot chocolate, cookies and more. Admission to the Lighting Ceremony is complimentary.
Breakfast with Santa and Shawnee’s Holiday Tea take place on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively, in December.
The Messiah Sing-In Community Concert is celebrating its 36th performance at The Shawnee Playhouse. The Messiah Sing-In takes place on Sunday, December 22, 2013 beginning at 8pm. As always, the Sing-In is complimentary to attend, however, there is a suggested donation of $8.00 per person.
The final holiday tradition is Shawnee’s Christmas Day Buffet – which will take place on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Our Christmas feast will feature a festive buffet with carving stations and a generous dessert selection.
