Camping Gone Wild
Shawnee Expands Outdoor Activities to Camping
Let us supply the equipment and do the work for you!
The historic Shawnee Inn Golf Resort has expanded its outdoor offerings to include a Shawnee Island Camping Experience throughout the summer and fall season. The resort will begin to offer camping as a “guest room alternative’ starting Saturday, July 18, 2015 on a private island located in the middle of the Delaware River.
Best known as a golf resort, the Shawnee Inn is taking the hassle and planning out of camping. Guests who elect to reserve a camping getaway at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort will arrive to a fully equipped and set-up campsite. Each tent can accommodate up to four guests and will include sleeping bags, pillows, lanterns, a campfire and s’mores each night, a camp breakfast each morning and a morning hike. Furthermore, Shawnee’s campers will have access to every standard resort amenity.
Shawnee’s Island Camping Experience is on a private island located in the middle of the Delaware River. There are no roads or highways that lead to the camping area, but rather, guests will arrive at the campsite by crossing the Delaware River by canoe. After arriving, guests will be accompanied by Shawnee’s Outdoor Camping Guides the entire duration of their stay.
The property rests on the banks of the nationally designated Wild and Scenic Delaware River and neighbors the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
Rates for Shawnee’s Island Camping Experience are $ 169 per adult and $99 per child Friday and Saturday (per person per night) and $129 per adult, $79 per child Wednesday or Thursday and include overnight accommodations in a fully-stocked tent located on our private island, Outdoor Camping Guides, evening bonfire and s’mores, a camp breakfast, AM hike around the island, full access to the Shawnee Inn’s resort amenities, and one of a kind memories. Click here for reservations after July 18, 2015!
