Delaware River Nominated for PA River of the Year

The Delaware River is in the running for Pennsylvania’s River of the Year Award. The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is incredibly lucky to have this beautiful river just steps from our front door. This allows our guests to enjoy various water activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, rafting, or taking a ride in our Pontoon Boat. And let’s not forget the amazing photo’s our guests take of the River with the mountains behind it.

The river flows almost 300 miles along the borders of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, and provides drinking water to over 14 million people. The river is home to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one of the top 20 most visited National Park units in the country. The park is located just a few short miles from the Shawnee Inn, and is often utilized by our guests.

If you’ve visited Shawnee, you know just how important the Delaware River is to our resort. You can cast your vote to make it Pennsylvania’s River of the Year by visiting the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers website. Voting is open until January 19th, 2025.
