At The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, our rich history is a cherished part of who we are, and we love sharing it with our guests. We are continually reminded of our roots and the remarkable achievements that shaped our resort. It all began in the late 1890s, when Charles Campbell Worthington, a successful New York businessman, engineer, and inventor, found solace in the natural beauty of Shawnee. An avid outdoorsman who preferred the countryside over city life, C.C. Worthington eventually made Shawnee his permanent home and left a lasting legacy. His contributions include the creation of Worthington Hall, now home to the Shawnee Playhouse, and the Buckwood Inn, which today stands as The Shawnee Inn.
